A straight swap in the same spot is usually a one-day job. If the boiler is moving position, or pipework and flue runs need changing, it can run into a second day. We tell you which it is before we start. ### Do I need an RGI registered installer to replace a gas boiler? Yes. Gas work in Ireland has to be carried out by an RGI registered gas installer, and the installation has to be commissioned and certified. Radiant is RGI registered and you get the certificate for the job. ### Is there an SEAI grant for a new gas boiler? No. SEAI does not grant-aid a like-for-like fossil fuel boiler replacement. Grants are there for insulation, heating controls, heat pumps and solar. Heating controls fitted at the same time can qualify separately if your home meets the build-year rule. ### What size boiler does my house need? It depends on the number of radiators, the hot water demand and how well insulated the house is — not on what was there before.
