Sludge and magnetite build up in every heating system over time. It settles in the bottom of radiators and in the pipework, so rooms stay cold, the boiler works harder and parts fail early. We use genuine Kamco power flushing equipment and chemicals to clear the system out room by room, then fit a magnetic filter and dose it with inhibitor so it stays clean.

Kamco Power Flushing: common questions
- What is a power flush?
- A pumped clean of the whole heating system using a Kamco machine and chemicals to break up and remove the black sludge (magnetite) that collects in radiators and pipework.
- How do I know if my heating needs a power flush?
- Cold spots at the bottom of radiators, radiators that stay cold while others heat, noisy banging from the boiler, or dirty black water when you bleed a radiator are the usual signs.
- How long does a power flush take?
- Most houses take most of a day, depending on the number of radiators and how bad the sludge is.
- Do I need a magnetic filter after a power flush?
- It is worth it. A filter catches debris before it gets back into the boiler and keeps the system cleaner for far longer. Many boiler warranties expect one to be fitted.
